Health & Safety

Illness/Injury: It is always OK to postpone or cancel a session; I appreciate as much notice as possible. Likewise, I will inform you promptly if there is any reason I won't be able to do a normal session.

Weather Cancellations

I generally follow FCPS/Fairfax County recommendations regarding unsafe temperatures (hot or cold) as well as heat and cold indexes available online.

Cold: https://www.recognizetorecover.org/environmental#cold-weather-guidelines

Hot: https://www.recognizetorecover.org/environmental#heat-hydration

Unsafe Weather arising during a session (e.g, thunder/lightning, tornado etc.)

We will immediately seek shelter and contact parent (if applicable) to come pick up the player. If it's really dangerous, if necessary we will shelter in my car; please let me know if you have any concerns.

Vaccinations

Coach Jess is up to date on all vaccinations including COVID, flu and pneumonia.

Teaching Heading

This is always optional - I am an excellent header and know how to do it safely. However, I understand it's not something all players want to do and they should never be pressured to do this by coaches or parents.

Head injuries

If a player receives a head injury during a session I will stop IMMEDIATELY and contact the parent (if applicable) - even if the player says they are "fine".
